Take the tedium. Keep the responsibility.
The useful role for AI is to make the right material ready for a professional decision.
MDX Labs grew from the work around professional work: chasing records, checking details and keeping a clear trail of who decided what.
MDX Labs was founded by a practising Chartered Accountant and registered tax agent with experience running MDX Consultants, a Melbourne accounting practice. The repetitive work was familiar: missing documents, ATO correspondence, deadlines and the same details entered in more than one place.
AI could prepare much of that work. But the practitioner still needed to check the result, make the call and explain what happened. That practical constraint shaped the studio’s approach: preparation by a system, judgement by a person, and a record of both.
MDX Labs is a separate automation business from MDX Consultants’ tax agent services. Client information from one is not used for the other without an agreed and authorised arrangement.
Manthan shapes the product direction at MDX Labs. His focus is turning the real work behind a process into a workflow people can understand, review and own.
That starts with the person doing the work: what they need to see, where they need to decide and what should happen when the system is unsure.

A reviewer should be able to see the source, the suggestion and the action that followed.
A dependable workflow can pause, escalate and return to a manual process.
A clear scope and price help a business decide whether a workflow is worth building.
We work with Australian firms whose name, licence, registration or reputation sits under the output. The first conversation starts with the process you want to improve, including its difficult cases.
